Mumbai: Former
Maharashtra home minister and Nationalist Congress Party leader RR Patil on
Monday died in Mumbai.
Former minister was suffering from advance stage of Oral
Cancer and was on ventilator support in Lilavati Hospital of Mumbai.
The leader held important ministries under Prithviraj
Chavan-led Congress-NCP government in Maharashtra.
R. R. Patil, popularly known as
“Aaba”, was born on 16 August 1957 in the village of Anjani, in the Tasgaon
taluka,sangli district in the State of Maharashtra. He obtained a B.A. from
Shantiniketan College Sangli as well as an LL.B. He spoke Marathi, Hindi
and English. He died on 16th February 2015 due to Oral Cancer at Lilavati
hospital.
The
senior NCP leader had been undergoing treatment at the Lilavati Hospital in
Bandra.
