Civil Services Examination, 2016- Result Declared

Based on the results of the written part of Civil Services Examination, 2016 held by the Union Public Service Commission in December, 2016 and the interviews for Personality Test held in March-May, 2017, following is the list, in order of merit, of candidates who have been recommended for appointment to:

(i) Indian Administrative Service;

(ii) Indian Foreign Service;

(iii) Indian Police Service; and

(iv) Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’

2. A total number of 1099 candidates have been recommended for appointment as per following break-up:

6. UPSC has a “Facilitation Counter” near Examination Hall in its campus. Candidates can obtain any information / clarification regarding their examinations / recruitments on the working days between 10:00 hours to 17:00 hours in person or over telephone Nos. 23385271 / 23381125 / 23098543. Result will also be available on the U.P.S.C. website i.e. http//www.upsc.gov.in. Marks will be available on the website within 15 days from the date of declaration of Result.

Here are SBI's new service charges that kick in from 01-06-2017

NEW DELHI: State Bank of India (SBI) had announced several revisions in charges on different services last month. The new charges kick in from June 1. Below is a summary of the revised charges:

ATM charges

All cash withdrawals through ATM—by customers of its mobile wallet State Bank Buddy—will now be charged at Rs 25 per transaction. Beyond four withdrawals in a month— for basic savings banks deposit account—the service charges applicable will be Rs 50 plus service tax per transaction; Rs 20 plus service tax at other bank ATMs; and Rs 10 plus service tax for SBI's own ATMs. All normal savings bank accounts will continue to get eight free ATM transactions in metros and 10 free transactions in non-metros.

Online transfer

IMPS fund transfer charges through internet banking/UPI/IUSSD will be Rs 5 plus service tax for amounts of up to Rs 1 lakh; Rs 15 plus service tax for above Rs 1 lakh and up to Rs 2 lakh; and Rs 25 plus service tax for above Rs 2 lakh and up to Rs 5 lakh.

Deposits through banking correspondents

Cash deposit through banking correspondent of up to Rs 10,000 will be charged at 0.25 per cent of the value with a minimum of Rs 2 and maximum of Rs 8 plus service tax. Cash withdrawal through banking correspondent of up to Rs 2,000 will be charged at 2.50 per cent of the transaction value (minimum of Rs 6) plus service tax.

Cards

Only RuPay classic card will be issued for free.

Cheque book charges

Issue of a 10-leaf cheque book will now cost Rs 30 plus service tax; 25-leaf book, Rs 75 plus service tax and 50-leaf book at Rs 150 plus service tax.

Exchange of bad currency notes

Service charges for exchange of soiled/imperfect notes, up to 20 pieces and value of Rs 5,000 will attract no charge. More than 20 pieces will invite Rs 2 per piece plus service tax. For value above Rs 5,000, Rs 2 per piece or Rs 5 per 1,000 plus service tax, whichever is higher on the entire order will be charged.

UPSC Civil Services Examination 2016 Final Result out

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results for the Civil Service exams that were conducted in 2016. Students who have appeared for the exam can check their results from the official website.

Nandini K R topped the UPSC Civil Services examination this time. She belongs to the OBC category and has qualified the examination with Kannada Literature as her optional subject. Nandini is a graduate of BE (Civil Engg) degree from MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore.

She is closely followed by Anmol Sher Singh Bedi and G Ronanki gets at the second and third positions, respectively. Bedi has a BE Computer Science Degree from BITS Pilani. There are 7 women and 18 men who have bagged the top 25 positions in the exam.

The civil service exams were conducted in August 2016 for which 11,35,943 candidates applied and over 4 lakh candidates appeared for the exams. About 15,452 candidates qualified for the main written exam that was conducted in December 2016 of whom 2,961 qualified for the Personality Test.

A total number of 1099 candidates have been recommended for appointment among whom are 500 candidates from the general category and 347, 163 and 89 candidates from the OBC, SC and ST categories respectively.

For any clarification regarding the results, candidates can call on the numbers 23385271 / 23381125 / 23098543 on wonking days between 10 am and 5 pm. The marks will be made available in 15 days.

7th CPC Latest News: E-CoS may table its report on higher allowances before Cabinet on June 1; no decision on arrears

If media reports are to be believed, the Empowered Committee of Secretaries (E-CoS) is likely table its report on higher allowances under the 7th Pay Commission before the Union cabinet on June 1.

New Delhi, May 30: Central government employees, who have been waiting for higher allowances under the 7th Pay Commission since July last year, may receive some good news on June 1. If media reports are to be believed, the Empowered Committee of Secretaries (E-CoS) is likely table its report on higher allowances under the 7th Pay Commission before the Union cabinet on June 1. The Empowered Committee is in last stages of finalizing draft on Committee on Allowances’ report on higher allowances, including house rent allowance (HRA), under the 7th Pay Commission. However, there is no clarity whether the government will agree to pay arrears on higher allowances.

The Empowered Committee of Secretaries (E-CoS) is likely to meet the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on June 1, where they would submit their recommendations to Committee on Allowances’ report on higher allowances under the 7th Pay Commission. National Joint Council Chief Shiv Gopal Mishra had been given assurance by the Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha who heads the E-CoS that all demands of the central government employees would be considered.

On June 1, the Empowered Committee of Secretaries (E-CoS) will hold a key meet in which the final draft on higher allowances and HRA under the 7th Pay Commission will be discussed along with other proposals and demands. However, the NJCA convenor is not sure whether their demands about arrears on higher allowances under the 7th Pay Commission will be accepted by the E-CoS. Earlier, a Sen Times report said the E-CoS may stick to the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission on higher allowances.

The 7th Pay Commission, led by Justice (retd) A K Mathur, suggested the abolition of 52 out of the 196 existing allowances, apart from subsuming 36 smaller allowances. The decision was widely opposed by the central government employees, after which Arun Jaitley had formed the Committee on Allowances to look into anomalies. The Committee on Allowances, which examined the 7th Pay Commission recommendations on allowances, submitted its report to the finance ministry on April 27.
